Skinned Teen & Raooul Split CD & LP: Bazooka Smooth/Jail-bait Core Two fast albums on a single CD by then-teenage bands Skinned Teen from the UK and Raooul from East Bay, CA. Skinned Teen was comprised of Layla (Chimps fanzine, Petty Crime, Shady Ladies, Modern Reveries), Esme (Headshoppe), and Flossie. Raooul was Molly and Phyllis (Tourettes, Outhud), Maddie, Loren and Melissa. The record is like a convergence of two different girl-gangs, very different in sound (stripped-down schoolyard chants and chaotic thrash/crust) but with an underlying hardcore aesthetic that is as intimidating as it is exciting. Expect an abundance of diss songs. |
